"A letto dopo Carosello"........ Quante volte abbiamo sentito questa frase e quante volte seduti davanti alla televisione speravamo che quei trenta minuti di "mini serial " non finissero mai? Calimero ed il suo indimenticabile refrain "Ava come lava", Carmencita ed il Caffe' Paulista, la Nutella e Jo Condor (Gigante pensaci tu...) e l'indimenticabile Gringo della Carne Montana.
Erano gli anni del boom economico italiano e dell' ingresso degli italiani nella cultura consumistica, ma questo passaggio da una realta' tradizionalmente contadina ad una piu' "moderna" veniva guidato non dai pubblicitari ma dai creativi: la storia ed i personaggi erano di gran lunga piu' importanti del prodotto stesso.
Quello che oggi definiremo lo "spot" della carne montana riprende l'atmosfera degli spaghetti western; la colonna sonora che accompagna l'intero sketch si rifa' ad una canzone di Celentano che in quegli anni andava per la maggiore; la storia raccontata in rima dalla voce del grande Enrico Maria Salerno.
"Hit the hay after Carosello" ........ How many times have we heard this phrase and how many times sitting in front of the TV have we hoped that the thirty-minute "mini series" would never end? Calimero and its unforgettable refrain, "Ava come lava," Carmencita and the Cafe 'Paulista, Nutella and Jo Condor (Gigante , pensaci tu ...) and the unforgettable Gringo of the Montana Meat spot.
It was the Italian economic boom, the years of the entrance into the consumerist culture , but this passage from a traditional peasant to a bit more "modern" reality was not driven by ad writers but by copy writers: the story and the characters were much more important than the product itself.
What we today call the Montana Meat "spot" takes the atmosphere of the spaghetti westerns, and the soundtrack that accompanies the whole sketch drew inspiration from a song of Celentano; the story told in rhyming slang by the voice of the great Enrico Maria Salerno.
